Newport Girls Basketball Opens with Win! Newport 42, Lempster 12
The NMS Tigers got the season off to a resounding start by beating visiting Lempster 42-12 Dec. 12 at home.
The Wildcats opened the scoring but it was all Lady Tigers from that point on as they rolled to victory.
Jadah LaClair and Breanna Baltazar led the way on the offensive end of the floor for the Tigers, Claire Seymour and Taylor Russell played scrappy defense and Haley Davis was huge on the boards.
BOYS MIDDLE SCHOOL BASKETBALL CHANGE NOTICE:
Due to a school event on December 13, 2024 the Middle School Boys Basketball team will have a shootaround in the high school gym from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. instead of practice from 4:15 to 5:45 p.m.
MIDDLE SCHOOL WRESTLING: Tuesday, 12/10/2024 6 pm-7:30 pm (High School Gym). Wednesday, 12/11/2024 Middle School Wrestling at Campbell with a 2:45 pm departure. Thursday, 12/12/2024 6 pm-7:30 pm (High School Gym).

Sixth grade students in Mrs. Burroughs' science classes just finished their Thermal Energy unit with a cup design challenge.
The participants needed to design a cup that could keep a drink colder than a regular plastic cup.
They learned about open and closed systems, thermal energy, structures, materials that insulate or conduct, and the movement of heat.
The students measured the change in mass as well as temperature changes in timed tests to see how successful their designs were.
They also got to add a creative touch!
Anyone Student interested in playing Middle School Football next fall and is currently in the sixth (6th) or seventh grade (7th), should come with a parent or guardian to a meeting on November 12, 2024 in the NMHS Cafeteria at 6 p.m.
Middle School Parent/Teacher Conference is being held Friday, November 01, 2024 from 9am thru 5pm. We hope to see you there.
Picture Retake Day is October 31, 2024 from 8 am to 8:30 am, so be mindful in regards to costumes, if your Student needs pictures.
Three hundred twenty-two people took part in our Eighth Annual Middle and High School Expo last night! Thank you to everyone who attended. We had a great time, too!
