We are thrilled to announce the launch of our Richards Welcome Ambassadors program — a brand-new leadership opportunity for our Grade 5 students that supports our Capturing Kids Hearts core value of student Empowerment !
Each day, a rotating group of our 5th graders will serve as Morning Ambassadors, greeting students as they arrive, offering a warm welcome, and helping escort their peers safely into the building. Their energy and kindness will help set a positive tone for the entire school day. 🌟
Students were chosen for this role because they have shown responsibility, kindness, and a commitment to being positive role models for others.
We are so proud of each of them!
Please join us in celebrating these amazing young leaders — they represent everything that makes Richards School special. 💙

In our recent science labs, students explored just how much water exists on our planet and took a closer look at one of its most fascinating features: the ocean’s saltiness. Through our “Tiny Ocean” investigation, students created model oceans and discovered that even though salt seems to disappear when mixed with water, it’s still very much there!
Using measurement and graphing, they gathered evidence to show that the salt doesn’t vanish—it keeps the same mass, even when we can’t see it. To take their learning a step further, students also created model salt flats, observing how evaporation leaves the salt behind.
So much curiosity, critical thinking, and hands-on learning happening in our classroom—future scientists in the making!

Doesn't a spaghetti dinner sound delicious?? Wear your favorite plaid while supporting the Grade 5 Outdoor Classroom Trip. A big THANK YOU to the Newport Moose Family Center 1236 for hosting this event. We'll see you at 6pm at the Moose!

The performance schedule will remain the same:
* Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd graders will perform at 10:30 AM.
* 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders will perform at 1:30 PM.
Both concerts will be held in the school gym, accessible through the gym entrance.
If you plan to pick up your child, please check in upon arrival; sign-out sheets will be available. Students will return to the gym to be reunited with their parent/guardian.
We look forward to seeing you there!

Dear Richards School Families,
This letter is to inform you that your child may have been exposed to Hand Foot and Mouth disease. HFMD is a common, mild, but contagious virus, and we want to inform you that we are currently experiencing cases at Richards School. The attached information, provided directly by the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services, outlines the symptoms and general guidance for families.
We are experiencing a significant increase in Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease (HFMD) cases throughout our building. Both students and staff members have contracted the virus, and we want to ensure you have the information needed to monitor your family's health and help prevent further spread.
Please know that we are taking proactive steps to keep our students and staff healthy. Our team is deep cleaning and blue-lighting all classrooms and throughout the entire building to help prevent further spread. Blue light cleaning uses visible light at specific wavelengths to kill bacteria, viruses, and other microorganisms on surfaces by creating reactive oxygen species inside microbial cells, it's safe for continuous use around people.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us at 603-865-9429
Thank you for your continued support.
Come meet Author & Illustrator Marty Kelley at our Holiday Book Night on December 5th from 4:30-6 PM! Wrap a free book for your student and enjoy a delicious, free pizza dinner. This event is sponsored by CLiF.
